How To Get Involved
Thank you for your interest in learning more about the volunteer opportunities at the SF LGBT Center! The SF LGBT Center is proud of its Volunteer Program and views volunteers as integral to supporting our work.
To get started:
- Review the opportunities listed below.
- Complete an application.
- After completing an application, follow the link to RSVP for an orientation on the application completion page or in the application confirmation email.
- For virtual Orientations—after RSVPing, you’ll receive the code to join the virtual meeting.
- Attend a 90-minute New Volunteer Orientation.
Our upcoming New Volunteer Orientation dates are:
- Thursday, July 11: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM (Virtual)
- Friday, July 12: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM (In-Person @ 1800 Market Street, SF)
- Tuesday, September 10: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM (Virtual)
- Thursday, September 12: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM (In-Person @ 1800 Market Street, SF)

Volunteer Opportunities
Whether you’re interested in one-day or recurring volunteer duties, we would love for you to join our growing team in one of the following capacities:
Administrative Support
Help with data entry and mailing parties.
Cyber Center
Assist visitors in accessing our free internet and printing services in the public CyberCenter.
Special Events
Provide day-of assistance with special events at the Center, from greeting and ushering to setup and breakdown.
Event Planning & Outreach
Support the planning, outreach, and logistics of our annual gala, Career Fairs, and ongoing arts and community building events.
Welcome Desk and Information & Referral
Welcome Center visitors and learn skills to respond to information inquiries and requests for referrals.
Professional/HR
Help coach job-seekers through the hiring process, from resume to interview.
