Founded in 1977, Chinatown Community Development Center’s (Chinatown CDC) mission is to build community and enhance the quality of life for low-income residents in San Francisco through the development of affordable housing, grassroots leadership, civic engagement, and youth empowerment. The vision of Chinatown CDC is a healthy, vibrant, and inclusive community for all residents. We do this through the development of affordable housing, leadership development training, and promoting positive political, economic, and environmental change. The values of respect, compassion, empowerment, and teamwork represent the core principles we stand for and believe in at Chinatown CDC. Ours is a place-based organization that treats each person with compassion and respect. We build a powerful coalition of advocates and supporters who contribute their own voices in the community. We strengthen community through teamwork and encourage people to learn, and to share ideas and knowledge across all communities and within Chinatown CDC.
