Roberto Ordeñana

Born and raised in San Francisco, Roberto has worked in social justice and community-building for over 20 years. Roberto began working at the Center in 2002 and grew his leadership with the organization. He currently serves as the Center’s Deputy Executive Director where he oversees several departments including Youth Services, Community Programs, Arts & Culture, Development, and Marketing and Communications. Prior to working at the Center, Roberto managed peer-led HIV prevention programs for gay and bisexual youth at the STOP AIDS Project, now a program of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Over the years, he has served on the LGBT Advisory Committee of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and as president of the board of directors of Bay Area Young Positives. In 2012, Roberto was appointed by the late Mayor Edwin Lee as a City Commissioner for the San Francisco Arts Commission, where he currently serves as vice president. Roberto holds a B.A. in Social Science with an emphasis in Human Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State University. He resides in San Francisco.
