SFHIV.org is sponsored by the San Francisco Department of Public Heath’s Community Health Equity and Promotion (CHEP) Branch. The focus area guiding our vision is to reach optimal health for people at risk or living with HIV. CHEP supports this vision by making sure all of its prevention efforts contribute to:
Decrease the number of new infections
Increase the percent of individuals newly diagnosed with HIV who receive care
Increase the percent of individuals HIV infected who are virally suppressed
For over three decades community members and local organizations have partnered with the Department of Public Health to design and deliver HIV prevention services. San Francisco continues to lead in the fight against HIV, and we are proud to share in these efforts. |

About Us
Our formation and mission was inspired and driven by the shared vision of our 4 founding clinicians. We 4 became friends and colleagues while working together at New Leaf Services, which had to close its doors October 15th, 2010, after 35 years of serving the LGBTQQI community.
Motivated by a mutual ambition to continue providing quality therapeutic services to the queer community in the Bay Area, we quickly gathered forces and were able to open our doors for service October 18th, 2010, in our new home in the Castro neighborhood of San Francisco.
We are very excited to continue on in 2015 with a steadily growing and diverse client base and an additional 10 post graduate interns. Plans are underway to continue growing our post graduate intern training program this fall, strengthen our new collaborations with many LGBTQQI focused agencies here in San Francisco and to continue to spread the word about our new organization.
Mission Statement
The mission of the SF Therapy Collective is to serve and empower the many LGBTQQI identified individuals, couples and families of the Bay Area through building and growing a mental health practice and related services that focuses on issues that impact the queer community today. With special attention to respecting diversity and collaborating with the various agencies that currently assist our community, our vision and purpose is to enhance the quality of the queer community at large and to support its individual members. |
