Walden House serves an adult population with a focus directed towards the integration of care for people who are either HIV positive, have co- occurring disorders of mental health and substance use, are homeless or without a medical home.

San Francisco AIDS Foundation works to end the HIV epidemic in the city where it began, and eventually everywhere. Established in 1982, our mission is the radical reduction of new infections in San Francisco because we refuse to accept HIV as inevitable. Through education, advocacy and direct services for prevention and care, we are confronting HIV in communities most vulnerable to the disease.

The benefits counseling program provides public benefits (social security, SSI, etc) representation as well assistance with navigating the  private benefits system to HIV positive San Francisco residents. We also represent people with severe mental health and Calworks sites. No charge for services. Call or drop in for information on intake protocol.

Provides services for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals,transgendered people questioning their sexuality. Includes information and referral services, support groups, individual and couple counseling. peer support groups for adolescents,transgender persons,people with AIDS/HIV.  No one is turn away for lack of  funds. Clean and sober enviroment. wheelchair accesible on the first floor only.

The Gay Men's Health Collective of the Berkeley Free Clinic provides STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) testing and treatment for all men, regardless of sexual orientation.

A routine exam includes the following:

  • Blood test for syphilis
  • Physical exam for bumps or lesions you may not have noticed
  • Checking your urine for signs of infection
  • Education about safer sex and STIs, including HIV

In addition, we can provide:

AIDS Emergency Fund responds compassionately to the AIDS crisis by providing immediate, short-term financial assistance to help people disabled by HIV/AIDS to cover their basic human needs and stabilize their living situations.

Here we provide a broad range of services. each program tailored to the individual we serve, ranging from informal gatherings designed to boost social support, discussion groups,  formal educational workshops, rapid HIV testing, and opportunities for counseling and referrals to other services available in the city.

Our goal is to improve people’s lives by reversing the history of health inequalities that affect the Black community and other underserved groups in San Francisco. We provide a safe, supportive environment where people can find a path to wellness by understanding their health issues, becoming more physically active and eating a healthy diet.
