I am filled with anxiety at how Donald Trump's proposed policies could impact the health and well-being of our community.
If the upcoming White House Administration carries on with proposed changes to healthcare, immigration, judicial, and other federal policies, we expect a surge of people seeking support and guidance from our programs and staff--which are already at capacity.
Community has never been more important. History has taught us that the only way forward during times like these is by relying on one another.
For close to 15 years, the SF LGBT Center has connected over 100,000 people annually to each other, provided vital services, helped mobilize our movement, and supported the most vulnerable members of our society. The policy changes that the new Administration has promised to make makes our work even more necessary than ever before.
We need to expand our services. To that end, we have launched a 15th Anniversary Campaign, which aims to raise $1 million over the next two years to increase staffing in our Information and Referral services, grow our Youth Program, and improve our facilities by updating essential building systems.
Thank you for standing with us. With you on our side we can, and will, succeed.
