Since 1971, the SF Tenants Union has been fighting for the rights of tenants and for the preservation of affordable housing in San Francisco. From the struggle for rent control in the 1970s to 1998's Proposition G (to end the abuses of OMI evictions), the Tenants Union has been the city's leading advocate for tenants. The SFTU is 100% membership supported and this enables our advocacy to be uncompromising and immune to pressures from government or other funders.
The Laurel Center is a committed group of mental health professionals dedicated to helping adults, children, teens, families and couples lead more fulfilling and rewarding lives. We continually strive to provide services that are sensitive and relevant to cultural minorities and the LGBT community.
CUAV works to build the power of LGBTQQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning) communities to transform violence and oppression. We support the healing and leadership of those impacted by abuse and mobilize our broader communities to replace cycles of trauma with cycles of safety and liberation.

Finding a good job in the Bay Area is hard enough, even without the additional challenges our community faces. That’s why we created the Transgender Employment Program (TEEI). TEEI is the nation’s first program designed to help us find – and keep – good jobs in safe workplaces.

Operates a community based adolescent health clinic, which provides comprehensive health services. Provides primary care services include family planning, pregnancy testing and choice counseling; sexually transmitted disease care; management of chronic health problems; confidential HIV testing (results in 2 weeks), counseling and medical care; specialty linkage and referral. Provides case management and psychosocial services, including crisis intervention, shortand long term case management, therapy, and linkage to various services.

San Francisco AIDS Foundation's financial benefits program helps clients navigate the complex private and public benefits system, including the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), General Assistance, Food Stamps, Medi-Cal (California's Medicaid program), Medicare, CARE/HIPP, and Social Security.  Our skilled counselors provide one-on-one advocacy, assessing what benefits clients are eligible to receive, and can also assist in the application process.

Provides legal leadership in the fight for women's equality. Brings lawsuits to achieve economic security for low income women, remove the double discrimination against women of color and expand options for immigrant women. Counsels callers around the country about their legal rights, and advocates legislative and administrative remedies. Toll-free, multi-lingual Advice and Counseling Hotline for women and girls seeking answers to their questions about discrimination they have experienced in the workplace or at school.
