Transcode SF

TranscodeSF (http://transcodesf.org/) was developed in 2012, as a free programming class for trans and gender non-conforming folks. Today, TranscodeSF (http://transcodesf.org/) has grown to a community of trans & GNC people currently in tech and aspiring coders, engineers, designers, and newcomers to the industry.

TranscodeSF (http://transcodesf.org/) teaches folks computer programming and software engineering skills through a co-working space, series of free classes, study groups, and hands on events with tech industry experts. TranscodeSF (http://transcodesf.org/) actively networks with allies in the tech industry and often invites allies to teach new guest series classes and to provide much needed mentoring opportunities. All events are open to allies.

The goal of TranscodeSF (http://transcodesf.org/) is to develop more diversity in tech and to build a community of trans and gender non conforming individuals currently in or aspiring for a career in technology through skill building, mentoring, and networking opportunities.

TranscodeSF (http://transcodesf.org/) is a collaboration partnership with the SF LGBT Center’s Trans Employment Program (http://www.teeisf.org/). The mission of Trans Employment Program (http://www.teeisf.org/) is to educate employers as well as to connect job seekers to trans friendly and sustainable employment. Additional Trans Employment Program (http://www.teeisf.org/) services at the Center include one-on-one coaching and job search support for all trans* individuals. Free Legal Clinic hosted by the SF LGBT Center & BALIF

Free legal clinic hosted by BALIF and the SF LGBT Center. This legal clinic is intended for community members needing pro bono legal advice, options, and an understanding of laws related to one of the following areas of law:

  • Family Law
  • Immigration Law
  • Employment Law
  • Healthcare Law
  • Will & Trust
  • Name/Gender Change (legal documents)

We are providing help filling out name and gender marker legal changes and information on how to qualify for a fee waiver.

Advance registration on the EventBrite page is strongly encouraged as we will be filling appointments on a first come basis. Please click the green register button on the right side of this page. We will send you more information on your appointment and arrival time at least 48 hours before the event. When registering, please indicate which area of law you need assistance with.
