2017 Queer Comics Expo (QCE)

Celebrate queer culture and diverse queer representation in comics, animation and other great ways to tell stories with QCE! The fourth annual Queer Comics Expo (QCE) will take place on Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 11am to 5pm at SOMArts Cultural Center, 934 Brannan St. (between 8th and 9th streets). Spend the weekend discovering new comics, going to thought provoking panels and meeting creators in this intimate small press style expo featuring special guest Irene Koh (The Legend of Korra, Secret Loves of Geek Girls) and many more!

Plus, Prism Comics and the Queer Comics Expo are proud to announce the first annual Prism Awards! These awards will be presented to comic works by queer authors and works that promote the growing body of diverse, powerful, innovative, positive or challenging representations of LGBTQAI+ characters in fiction or nonfiction comics. The goal of the awards is to recognize, promote and celebrate diversity and excellence in the field of queer comics. Winners to be announced 4pm Saturday, July 8th at Queer Comics Expo.

Queer Comics Expo is proud to be a fundraiser for the Cartoon Art Museum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to for over 30 years and part of the Queer Cultural Center’s annual National Queer Arts Festival for the fourth year in a row.
